     For Viking River Cruises

    Air Conditioning & Heating
All rooms onboard are air conditioned. Each cabin has individual air conditioning and heating controls.

    Beverages
Water, tea and coffee are available for free and at all times. Sodas and alcoholic beverages are available at additional charges.

    Board Shop
Each ship has a board shop where you will find accessories, film, Viking River Cruises souvenirs and gifts as well as select personal and toiletry items.

    Clothing Suggestions
The dress aboard and ashore is casual, and it is suggested to dress comfortably. We recommend comfortable shoes for the sight-seeing excursions, especially those that involve walking tours. Dinner attire is "evening casual," which means open-neck shirts, slacks, dresses and sport outfits. However, the attire for the Captain's Welcome and Farewell Nights are dressy, but not formal. Shorts and swimwear are never allowed in the dining room.

    Cuisine
All food aboard is prepared by our staff of European chefs and consists of European-style food that has been adjusted for the American passenger. Breakfast is served buffet style; lunch consists of a salad and sandwich bar as well as a pasta dish, hot entree and dessert; and dinner is multi-course meal with a selection of entrees.

    Dining
The dining room is a single-seating, open-seating restaurant. We recommend that you sit at different tables for each meal so that you can change your perspective and meet other fellow passengers.

    Electricity
Onboard electricity is 220v. Although a hair dryer is provided in most cabins, we suggest bring an adapter for other small personal items such as a razor, curling iron or alarm clock.

    Embarkation
Each ship has a different afternoon embarkation time. Refer to your cruise ticket for your embarkation time. In case of an early arrival, you may check your luggage onto the ship and enjoy the embarkation port city through the afternoon.

    Gratuities
Tipping is a personal way to show satisfaction for good service and is always appreciated. The suggested amount is $5 per passenger per day, which is distributed among the ship's staff. It is recommended to tip tour guides $1 -2 per person per day. Additional tipping is at the passengers' discretion.

    Hairdryers
Most ships have hairdryers in the cabins. Please ask at the reception desk if one has not been installed in your cabin.

    Hotel-style beds
Hotel-style beds are available on our newer vessels, including the Viking Danube, Viking Danube, Viking Europe, Viking Spirit and Viking Pride.

    Laundry
Laundry services are available aboard at an additional cost. Price lists are in your cabin. We regret that clothes cannot be dry cleaned.

    Library
The ships' libraries have books available free of charge. We kindly ask that you return the books before the end of your cruise.

    Medical Services
There is no doctor on board on the European ships, however, the staff is medically trained for emergencies. All Russian ships have doctors on staff that travel throughout the cruise.

    Money aboard ship
For your convenience, all purchases and paid services aboard are billed with a guest check and added to your personal shipboard account. At the end of the cruise, you will receive a total, which can be paid with cash or charged to a credit card.

    Onboard Language
The onboard language is English. All staff and crew speak fluent English as do the tour guides. All announcements and lectures will be presented in English.

    Passenger Service Manager
An experienced, English-speaking Passenger Service Manager accompanies every departure. They are there to ensure your comfort, answer questions and make your vacation the most memorable trip ever.

    Questionnaire
A questionnaire will be delivered to your cabin before the end of the cruise. We kindly ask that you complete the form and return it to the reception desk.

    Room Service
    Room service is not available.

    Safes
Most ships have in-room safes. It is recommended to keep jewelry and valuables in the safe when away from the cabin. For those ships that do not have in-room safes, items can be checked into the ship's safe at the reception desk.

    Smoking
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the ship. It is only permitted on the walk-around Promenade Deck outside the lounge and on the Sun Deck.

    Special Diets
Passengers requiring special diets, such as vegetarian, low salt & low cholesterol meals, may make their requests to the maitre d'hotel when onboard. The chefs will try to honor all requests.

    Stamps, Postcards & Mail
Stamps and postcards are available at the reception desk, and mail will be sent from port each day.

    Sun Deck
The sun deck is located on the top of each ship. For your enjoyment, there are plenty of deck chairs.

    Telephones
Each cabin has its own telephone. Ship-to-shore calls will be billed to the cabin and placed on the personal shipboard account. Depending upon routing, there may be times when the ship is moving that calls cannot be connected. An instruction manual is in each cabin. For fax services, contact the reception desk.

    Televisions
The ships are equipped with a satellite system, and there is a television in each cabin. Most ships will receive 6 TV channels with US and English programming as well as 2 video and 2 informational channels.

    Viking News
Our daily program, the Viking News, features interesting and important information about the daily activities, shore excursions, tour departure times and more.
